CEO says Gazprom raises non-CIS gas exports by 8 bcm Jan 1–Oct 15
MOSCOW, Oct 18 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom increased gas sales to non-CIS states by 8 billion cubic meters on the year from January 1 through October 15, CEO Alexei Miller told Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Thursday.
“In the first nine and a half months we exported 8 billion cubic meters of gas to non-CIS states… There is no doubt that in the entire 2018 we will reach a new record high in terms of non-CIS exports. We will overshoot the 200 billion cubic meter mark… and we are nearing 205 billion cubic meters very closely,” he said.
In 2017, Gazprom sold 148.6 billion cubic meters of gas to non-CIS states from January 1 through October 15, which means that in the same period of this year its exports might rise 5.3% to 156.6 billion cubic meters.
The CEO said that his company’s average daily exports to non-CIS states this summer were 10.5% larger than in the winter of 2015–2016 which is linked to Europe’s shrinking gas production.
Gazprom is ready for peak loading of the upcoming winter, he added.
“We have completed 11 proactive comprehensive overhauls of the gas supply facilities and systems and accumulated 72.2 billion cubic meters of gas reserves in underground storages.”
Miller also said that Gazprom’s domestic gas sales rose by 7.5 billion cubic meters in January 1–October 15 which is a 4.5% rise on the year.
Gazprom’s gas production grew 6.8%, or by 24.5 billion cubic meters, from January 1 through October 15 and may increase to 500 billion cubic meters in the entire 2018, he added.
